Pre dawn risers were treated to a epic light-show today. It always amazes me that in a town of around 60,000 people I can have an entire beach to myself with one of the best visual display’s unfolding for all to see and is doesn’t cost a dime… yet there are no takers. Yep at 5.15am the sky lit up with some intense yellows, reds and pinks. Hope some others got to see it at the beaches nearby. The surf wasn’t as epic, didn’t bother taking any action shots today, just went for a quick surf in some 1-foot north east wind swell..there are a waves if you are really desperate. A few waves for the weekend would be nice Huey… are ya there mate?
The best art gallery in the world…. admission is free!
Had to resort to the ole self portrait today… this is my good side
After the pre sunrise colours, I headed to a different beach and a “larger looking” sun than normal came rising up above the headland.

Instead surfing you can do the next best thing, watch surfing. The pipe masters in Hawaii started yesterday. It’s the final event of the WCT year and the waves were pumping CLICK HERE to watch the live action over the weekend, I think they have called a lay day today, but you can tune into yesterday highlights or log back in tomorrow to see the pros paddling into one of the best waves in the world.
