finals day 21st march

It was finals day at the Noosa festival yesterday and it was Coffs local Jared Neal who put in a solid performance to almost upset the favourite, Josh Constable. Jared managed to jag second place with a sneaky lefthander in the dying minutes of the final. He went from 4th to 2nd place with his final ride edging past American champ Taylor Jensen.

Jared Neal’s best result at the Noosa festival of his career

Unfortunatley the competition had to be moved from the preferred First Point at Noosa to the beach breaks down near the river mouth. The swell really faded during the latter part of last week and went tiny for the weekend…. with the Noosa festival done for another year, the Australian longboard tour turns its attention to the Malfunction event due to start later this week just south of the Gold coast.

Jordie Brown… all the way from Victoria and shredding in 3 divisions (old mal, noserider and 9foot open)

Thomas Bexon… amazing rider of heavy single fin logs, his free surfing sessions this week were one of the highlights for me

America’s Taylor Jensen perched in the noserider division

The always smiling Isabelle Braly… she had a ball this week. Made the final of the old mal division taking down plenty of her male competitors on her way and she also finished 3rd in the open womens pro final… great gal – great surfer!
