Solitary Islands surf school is a exciting new business that is going to be launched this Saturday on the northern beaches of Coffs Harbour. This Woolgoolga based surf business has been in the planning for a long while. It’s a longtime passion of Emerald beach born and bred local Darryn Quigley who has worked as a worldwide surf coach for the past 10 years. He has also held a position with “Surfing Western Australia” and has a deep knowledge in the best ways to educate young and old in the ways of the ocean and the skills required. But thats only half the story, backing up Darryn’s knowledge is Longboard world champion Harley Ingleby, his advice, guidance and experience is going to be of great value to the next generation of surfers on the Coffs coast.
World Longboard champ and now surf school owner Harley Ingleby will be a valuable asset to the next generation of surfers on the Coffs coast
This Saturday (24th Sept) from 9am-5pm The Solitary Islands surf school are inviting everyone (all ages) to come down to the main beach at Woolgoolga (just north of the surf club) for a free half hour surf lesson. The emphasis is on fun and ocean awareness. The Solitary Islands will have high performance opportunities offered down the track, but their goal is to get people active and loving the ocean and doing it in a safe and respectful manner. On the day you can learn about the new “surf groms” program which will be run for 5-12 year olds, but its not just about the young ones on Saturday, they want to see everyone having a crack a learning to surf and having fun…. some come on down no matter what your age, its never to late to get into it
Darryn Quigley is the other half owner of the new “Solitary Islands surf school” bloody solid surfer in his own right
We will be running more info on the Surf Groms program over the next few weeks, but this video will be just a taste of what you can expect the kids to experience
