january 2011 in review

January had a few highlight days of cracking surf, but they were only one-day wonders, what we had in between was surfable, but easily forgettable. Below is a photo gallery of the little moments during the month of January on the Coffs coast…..

Alex Swadling – mid way through a killer air reverse back on the 4th January

Johnny Craig blasting on a Flanagan single fin – This shot taken on the afternoon of the 5th January… the swell had double in size from the morning session, this is inside a protected corner

We had our fair share of stormy days in January.. this one taken on the 12th after 4 days of wet weather

sunshine makes everything gooood…. this was the start of a fun day in the waves

and then there was big monday…. on the 17th a massive east swell hit the east coast. The Gold coast was the best it’s been in years, spots on the Coffs coast were limited, but some crew got their big wave thrills for a day

this shot ran on the homepage of coastalwatch… nice wall at a Coffs town beach

on the 19th…two days later it was logging waves only

heavy storm clouds have being a familiar site this summer (20th jan)

(24th Jan) this was my favourite day of the month… sunny, steamy warm water and clean crisp barrels for the early

the last weekend of january threw up some tasty waves (29th)

Jared Neal squaring off on the last day of the month

February is looking like the month for cyclone swells, lets hope some good winds hook up with these north east swells and beaches really light up!! thanks for dropping by ST Surf Images
