Today’s main pic has the tell tale signs of a full tilt easterly… these little critters were strewn all over our shorelines this morning, after a night of 35km/hr straight onshore winds. Any surfer will know there isn’t anywhere to hide from a dead east wind around here, so if you are going surfing today, prepare for the playground to be a soupy mess.
Despite the ugly surf conditions, it was beautiful morning on the coast… A fresh salty breeze filling the lungs with goodness
Valla local and WQS surfer Heath Joske yesterday made the final of the first event of the Hawaiian Triple crown at Haleiwa beach. It is easily Heath’s best performance on the world qualifying tour to date. Joel Parkinson ended up taking it out by a fair margin in his first comeback event since his foot injury earlier this year. Joel Centeio got second while Julian Wilson and Heath Joske took up third and fourth. It’s epic news for Heath, as he is now in the running for the “Rookie of the Vans Triple Crown award, for the top newcomer to the series. His powerful arching turns certainly suit the Hawaiian juice, so lets hope he takes it up to em!

This mornings sunrise wasn’t too bad either
