You can pretty much bank on the month of May to produce amazing surf on the mid north coast. Consistent offshore winds, clear skies and swells from the east and south all came together nicely in 2011 to live up to its high expectations. We were working heavily on a couple of video projects but still managed to keep our stills camera’s rolling to capture some of the best moments of a month I will remember for a while yet….. I hope you guys made the most of it!
The amount of empty smoking waves around in May was outta hand!!
2nd May: This single wave was so intense…. I don’t think Harley will ever forget it!!
16th May…. one of those beautiful moments that makes it worth getting out of bed so early for
We were up on the Gold coast on the 8th-11th of May. Mostly doing a commercial job, but we did sneak out for a few surfs and photo sessions. Snapper was good, but I heard home was cracking at the same time.
John Craig slotted on the 3rd May
26th May: Beach break in the heart of Coffs turning on for the early morning crew
Sandy path to Autumn A-Frames
This time of year steam off the ocean is common. 21 degrees in the briny and below 5 degrees at dawn on the clear days!!
The last weekend in May is Crescent Head time. Every year the Crescent head classic attracts hundreds of Longboarders to its famous pointbreak. One contest where they have thought about the best time of year to hold such an event…. it pays off for them nearly every time… pictured is Scotts head logger Jack Lynch.
Sage Joske cool as you like on his 5’7 twin fin….. early may 2011
