shipwrecked 11th august

Coffs Harbour had it’s very own micro version of the “Pasha Bulker” at Park Beach this morning!! A strong north east swell proved too much for this sea fairing vessel and Huey sent her to the beach. It was a shipwreck looking morning today with heavy rain clouds and wild looking untidy swell. The northern corners are the “go to” spots for surfers today, that north east wind howled overnight and looks like it will continue for the rest of the day.

It was quite an operation to get her back out there…. sea rescue buzzing around on jet skis, 4WD’s getting bogged on the beach, plenty of on lookers that never normally set foot on the beach were down there early and the NBN news crew getting footage for tonight.

nice morning for it!

Everyone wanted a piece of the rescue action. 3 boats waiting to be the one to pull it back out to sea

While all this was happening there were guys like Aussie May here, getting some fun waves (thats the boat in the top left, on tow back out to sea)

Surf is looking good for the rest of this week!!

one last picture of the boat….. its not everyday this happens you know. If you want to see a few more pics from this morning CLICK HERE to see the gallery

Very cool new video clip up on the website. Its of Ryan Burch riding some tripped out finless boards, great interview and well shot….. Check it out HERE
