Tezza! 15th december

Best waves in weeks this morning!! just looked back through the archives and we haven’t had a day over 3 foot and clean for quite a while. I went on the a mission to find the best spot before 6 O’clock and didn’t start shooting until after 8. No where was living up to my high expectation, including the spot I ended up taking photos at. I bet some of you would have scored some joy.

Johnny Craig going back to 70′s with his single fin and lighting bolt sticker

above and below Harley’s quad flashing above the lip… his first surf since coming back from the P-Pass (lucky bugger)

RIP Tezza

Moonee lost one of it’s stalwarts last week to a 3 year battle with disease. Terry Hanigan passed away at just 53 years of age and “The front” at Moonee won’t be the same without him.

Tezza was a champion bloke, always up for a yarn and loved to surf. In the last 3 years he would often be down the front at Moonee having a chat as you got ready to go surfing. You could see how much he was bursting to go out with you. He certainly made me appeciate each surf I had no matter how bad the conditions. As you walked off over the creek he would shout out “hey Tom!… have a good one!” nearly everytime

A testament of a man is what he leaves behind and his two sons Josh and Ryan are the most respectful groms I know, any parent would be super proud to have teenage sons like these boys. The funeral on Monday was another testament to how many lives Tezza touched. It was standing room only…actually all the standing room was taken, they were spilling out the doors

There is going to be a paddle out at Tezza’s beloved Moonee at 7.30 Saturday morning (18th dec) Gonna miss you Tezza…. have a good one mate!
