the apple show 20th april

Our website was out of action yesterday… it was getting an overhaul on the backend, turns out the software we had running was old news, so after a days work we are now running on a much smoother system, page uploads should be quicker now too. Anyway while all that was happening a north-east swell was kicking in hard and is still in the water this morning. It’s probably not the ideal direction for the Coffs coast, most beaches are lumpy and rip damaged, Back beaches are fairing a little better. The northern corner I was at was dominated by one surfer…. it was the “Warick Appleton show” out there today. You know the type of session where everything just seems to come your way, every line you draw is the right one and every good wave comes straight to you?? it happens every so often and you can see when it’s someones day, Warick must have been putting out the right energies to the ocean because he paddled out 15 minutes before I stopped shooting and proceeded to get the best 6 waves I had seen in the last hour and half… barrels, backhand hooks, bombs on the outside, sucky insiders he had it on a string.

Right barrels… left barrels Warwick Appleton having a blast out there today

Good sized north-east swell out there today… this place was cleaner, but a lot smaller than most… Zane Coleman around 7.30

last night’s raindrops still hanging on, hopefully that down-pour was the last of it

Warick again….. see more from this morning Here

minds in the water – must see

On Sunday night at the Coffs Harbour cinema (Bray street) there will be the one-time screening of the new movie “Minds in the water” it follows the life of Dave Rastovich over a 5 year period as he travels the world surfing and in his main quest to protect Dolphins and Whales the world over. I really hope everyone that gains so much from the ocean on a daily basis gives back to the ocean. Going to see this film will give you a good start or at least provide some inspiration. Click Here to read more about the movie and see the epic tralier. Starts 7pm Sunday night, only $15 please come.
