st surf images

You know its winter in Coffs Harbour today!! we are lucky enough to get quite a few days through the winter months that feel more like warm spring days, but today aint one of those. A cold south-west wind couple with a thick blanket of grey sky is making for some brass monkey style weather. Just looking at the cool colours in the mornings photos give you a good idea of the temperature….. cold and blue.

Still some swell hanging around, overhead waves on the sets with a reasonable wave period, but I didn’t find anywhere that was looking that great

DMC BOARD WINNER!!!

The winner of ST surf images first major prize came forward last night. The lucky subscriber was Cathy Lean, Cathy said she has been a subscriber to ST Images for quite a while and has followed site closely since her son Peter had some surf shots run recently. This is part of what Cathy said in her email to us this morning “There was great excitement in my household last night and when I told my son I was going to get the board made for me he just laughed!! So I guess it will be him getting it haha. I dont surf but I love watching, he is out of action at the moment…hurt his ankle surfing…so its just as well the board has to be made”

so well done to Cathy and Peter, we look forward to meeting you both one day, and we will do a little surf shoot of you once Danny from DMC  gets your custom board all shaped up (oh, and when your ankle gets better)

Austin May, first thing this morning. 4 of his 5 brothers are in town and they were having a little get together surf, Aussie bravely gave up his wetsuit to one of his bro’s that didn’t have one…. solid effort matie, your a better man than me. He only lasted about 5 waves before he came in teeth chattering.
