the art of flight

Apart from a two-week skiing holiday to Falls creek when I was ten, I have never really had much to do with the snow and I’ve certainly never snowboarded before, so when I received the lastest movie title from Garage entertainment “The art of flight” a snowboarding film I wasn’t overly amped. I put it to the back of the pile of new surf DVD’s that had just been released. Finally that movie made its way to the front and I watched it over the weekend. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. I spent the entire length of the this film with my mouth wide open while holding my breath….this film is captivating!!

The budget for this film would have been enormous. Such high production costs for what is just a film about snowboarding. They had 15  of the very best cameras running at once with multiple helicopters buzzing around, a full team of crew and awesome looking snowmobiles to get them around. This film is such a work of art. The scenery is just incredible. They visit places such as Alaska, Canada, Chile, America and more to get the most amazing and intense action footage. As far as production, camera work and overall smickness this leaves any surf film for dead. The snowboarder dudes know how to make epic action films thats for sure. They also must know how to raise a decent budget!

If you are even remotely interested in snowboarding, you have to get your hands on this film. I’m not a snowboard fan at all, but man I love this movie… this is a definite 5 outta 5 rating. Check the trailer below and then go hassle Coopers surf center for a copy
