I have been waiting for this DVD to hit all year and finally I got to see it on the weekend. I have got to say this is one of the most visually stunning surf films I think I’ve watched. The overhead fly-bys over parts of this Australia coastline are world class. It is shot 100% in Australia and they capture both sides of the continent and manage to jag some epic swells. The cast is as good as it gets with folk like Dane Reynolds, Kelly Slater, Asher Pacey, Craig Anderson, Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow, Josh Kerr and a Parko like Adam Robertson all tearing in some very “I wanna be there type waves”

This could have easily taken the gong for the surf movie of the year if it wasn’t for the narration. The dude that got to do the voice-over talked to the audience like they new absolutely nothing about the ocean or surfing. I don’t mind this style when its been used in a wildlife documentary and they are talking about some weird animal from the deep jungles of Borneo. But this film, I would imagine is only really going to be viewed and brought by surfers. So they had a big miss with the narration idea. If they left that out it would have been a big winner. Or they could have at least used the same bloke’s voice in the trailer below. Instead they got some “Pro” documentary narrater and it sound so out of place. Anyway having said all that I am going to watch this movie many, many times over as an inspiration for surfing, travelling and my photography.
