An absolute peach of day out there, weather couldn’t get any better. Crystal clear water, light winds, sunshine and still some fairly tidy water temps for this time of year. I’m a cold frog, but I’m still getting away with boardies and a vest, most could still do a middle of the day session in just a pair of trunks… how good is the mid north coast hay?? there a few fun waves around the place too. Not as big as the last few days but super clean and rippable… get out there before it fades to smallness over the weekend.

South swell magnets are way bigger this morning. Swell period has stretched out to 13 seconds and it has more of a groundswell look to it. Most of the those beaches sucking in this south swell aren’t in the best shape thou, too lumpy… look elsewhere for smaller but cleaner sort of waves. Todays pics were taken around 8am… not as big as what the swell magnets are getting and still a little lumpy, but rippable. Southerly wind was starting to puff as I left the beach arvo sessions will most likely be in the protected corners.

Well that swell did provide waves, just not the solid juice that some of us were hoping for. It was always going to be a very directional south swell, but the size of the low and what it produced out to sea didn’t really translate into anything amazing for our beaches. Most beaches were just capping on the outside banks before reforming and producing the odd flukey shore break wedge. I will take it…. should be something worth surfing in the southern corners all day long.. enjoy! (Nick Coulson in today’s main frame.. late last night)

After a near flat weekend the swell is back on tap this morning and getting stronger by the hour. First light revealed a new south swell in the water around the 2 foot mark, but you could tell the energy was out there, by 9 O’clock it was a solid 4 foot at the beaches facing south and should be at least another 1-2 foot bigger by late this afternoon. Southern corners are going to be much cleaner but much, much smaller due to the south direction of this swell. Options will be limited today but the good news is we have some overhead waves back on the menu.

The last day of what has been the best week of weather I can remember for a long time!! baking sunshine, light winds, 25 degrees… nothing but blue sky for 7 days straight and we are only 20 days from the start of winter. The water conditions are amazing and there is still some leftover lumps of swell from the early week barrel fest. You really should be out there enjoying this amazing weather, even if its just a half hour lunch break run to the beach. If it can’t happen, the weekend is looking just as perfect, more sunshine and light winds predicted… only downside is the swell will be tiny, maybe a few longboard sliders at best. Flatness shouldn’t last long thou, a new south swell should start filling in Monday morning. Have a great weekend!!

Another day, another barrel fest here on the mid north coast of New South Wales. This amazing run of good conditions and pumping swell is continuing again today, but lets have a look at what went down yesterday. The swell changed a little bit more to the north yesterday morning and was coming in straight on the sandbars. Many were hoping that Tuesday was going to be all-time, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations, you had to find a beachie that broke up the swell into peaks to avoid the many close-outs that were going down. Today has settled and looks like there will be more options available.

A well positioned low pressure system off the east coast provided us with some pumping waves yesterday morning (Monday 7th). Huey is coming to the party and delivering yet another epic month of May for us Coffs coasters. He is even sending in some most welcome sunshine this week, looks like we will have clear skies and offshore winds right through till the end of next weekend. I will be coming in a day behind for most of this week as I try and catch up with the shots from the previous days, as you read this I will no doubt be chasing more photos, video footage and getting a few waves myself… gotta make the most of it while going is good right?? hope you are gettin a few!!

Yesterday morning we all woke to a rather large swell… way bigger than the swell forecasters had predicted thats for sure! A very solid east swell was pouring into the bays and beaches of the Coffs coast and once again there were only a few spots fairing well with this direction. These large swells from the east tend to have a wobble through them at most of our set-ups and this one was no different. It should start to settle during today (monday) and get really good over the next 48 hours.. tomorrows post should be stacked with some juice from todays sessions with any luck… we will be hunting!!

We don’t normally come into you on a Saturday but we missed Friday and well.. the waves are fairly good today, good enough to grab a few pics anyway. There is loads of sunshine for starters and we have a new south-east flowing into the coast. A swell that looks stronger than what we’ve had although its still sorting itself out. Sunday’s looking the goods with a straight east element to the swell and lighter more offshore winds… and so the pumping waves of May begin, it should be a good week!!
